Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life,” My husband added one more word: love. Without love, we cannot do anything. We need to add love to this biblical text and engrave it: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life and the love. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
We each need this love.

The above is from the ninth chapter in True Mother’s memoir titled, “God’s Kingdom in Our Midst.” True Father mentioned the same thing during his life.
Jesus used the word, “I,” and spoke in the first-person singular form. Jesus was not able to answer heaven’s request of holding the wedding feast of the lamb, so I think this was inevitable. Christians seek after individual salvation, and they have risked their lives to follow the way, the truth and the life of Jesus.
We have received the grace and miracle of rebirth as blessed families from True Parents’ victory. We have also accepted the mission and responsibility of heavenly tribal messiahship as our destiny.
During the 6,000-couple Blessing ceremony (October 1982), True Father emphasized that we must take to the world and fulfill the mission of heavenly tribal messiahship in Jesus’ place, as he said, “I am proud there are many messiahs that have been established.”
Those of us who have received the blessing are messiahs to our tribes. If that is so, we must aim to become families that are like branches and proclaim that our families are the way, the truth, the life, and the love, just as Jesus proclaimed that he was the way, the truth, and the life.
Our families are the way!
True Mother proclaimed the Heavenly Parent’s Holy Community and created an environment where all humankind can return to the bosom of the Heavenly Father (God). All humankind must accept God as the Heavenly Parent, and restore the heart of brothers and sisters under the bosom of a common parent. We can enter this realm through our families. Our families are the base of the Cheon Il Guk culture centered on filial piety.
Now, the time has come when human beings—who have lost their parents due to the fall of the first human ancestors and have wandered in the darkness—are allowed to return to the bosom of the Heavenly Parent as children of God. Our families become the way back to the bosom of our Heavenly Parent. The way must be well-maintained with signboards that are easy to see, and with bright well-lit lights that glow with filial piety.
Our families are the truth!
The objective of the word is substance, and the objective of substance is heart. Our goal is to become the completed substance of the word. We must become the substance of truth. We have to build families where people say, “I understand the word much better,” when meeting our families.
In the Divine Principle, it says that “the truth illuminates the innermost desires of the spirit mind.” We need to cultivate our family culture so that it can inspire people’s hearts.
Our families are the life!
When the cry of a newly born life reverberates in the family, it is like the moment of the Big Bang when heaven and earth trembled with joy, hope, joy, gratitude and inspiration all at once.
How elated must the Heavenly Parent have been when He heard the birth of Adam and Eve? Similarly, when a life that had been groaning in the midst of the false lineage comes in contact with the word, trembles with emotion, and reaches out his or her hand to scream, “Heavenly Parent,” how emotional of a moment is this?
Our families are tribal messiahs, so we must become the frontline base of witnessing that transforms many lives and brings them from the realm of the dead to the living.
Our families are the love!
Love is sought by all people; it is the most noble thing, but it has no color, no smell, and cannot be touched. But love certainly exists.
The value of eternal life is love, and the spiritual world is a place where you live breathing love. Life on Earth is also a period of nurturing love toward eternal life. The way of Cheonbo discipline is the training of love during earthly life, and it is the way towards perfecting the human spirit that leads to eternal life. Therefore, the family is the school of love.
Our families are the way, the truth, the life, and the love. Let us aim to build families where we can proudly declare, “Those who have seen our families have seen our Heavenly Parent!”
